Saved and Surrendered To God’s Will

Now That I Am Saved, What Do I Do Next? What Is The Next Step In My New Walk With The Lord?

You have now just made Jesus your Savior. However, there is now one more big thing you must do. You must now make Jesus the Lord over your life. Jesus must now become both your Lord and Savior, not just your Savior.

The second biggest decision that you will ever make in this life is – who is going to run the rest of your life from here on in – you or God?

The Bible makes it very clear as to who should be guiding your steps in this life – and that Person is God the Father through the Holy Spirit!

This decision as to who will be running your life from here on in will determine the course your life will now take. If you decide to run your own life and call all of your own shots, then your life is going to take a completely different course as versus the one it would take if you would turn your entire life over to God the Father for Him to fully handle.

Once we are saved, God the Father expects us to do something with what time we still have left down here on this earth. He now wants all of us to come and “work” for Him.

The Bible tells us that God will be “rewarding” us for the good works that we will do for Him while living down here on this earth. Again, these good works cannot get us saved, but they can get us the bigger and better rewards once we enter into heaven.

So what does your natural, common sense and intelligence tell you would be the wisest decision as to who should be running your life? You – with your limited powers, limited intelligence, and limited strength – or God the Father, who is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-perfect?

*Submit and Surrender.*

“Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” – Matthew 6:10 HCSB

Submission and Surrender aren’t words our culture tends to hold with much regard.

We like to push them aside because of the presumed weakness they imply.

However, we should strive to live in submission and surrender to the will of God.

With each passing day, we want our lives to become increasingly aligned with God’s will.

To do this, we submit to His will.
Nothing about relinquishing our will is easy.

Determine where you’re holding tight and trying to power through a situation causing stress or hardship.

*What keeps you up at night?*

Whether an issue with family, a health crisis, fear, or worry about cultural shifts, open your hands in surrender to the Lord.

Every single one of us are gonna experience Storms.

But when you’ve built your life on Jesus, when God is your refuge, when God is your strength you can rest assured that no matter what you face he’s gonna work it out for you good in his timing.
(Roman 8 vs 28)

It may not be worked out for your preference or according to your preference. How you visualised it, how you wanted it to be, what you considered to be the most ideal circumstance buy when he works it out you’re gonna look more like Jesus.

*YOU’RE GONNA BE CLOSER TO HIM.* The Love, Joy, Peace of the Holy Spirit will be more evident in your life than ever before.

*YOU’RE NOT GOING DOWN. YOU’RE GOING UP!* Physically it looks like ~Division~ but it’s actually ~Multiplication~

Bottom line – you have to look at the real “big picture.” The real big picture is not only what happens in this life, but also what happens in the next life. The next life in heaven is nothing but a continuation of this life that we are living down here on this earth. But there is one main difference.

This life on earth is but for a very short period of time. The life we will be living up in heaven will be forever – with no more crossovers into any other realms.
