There’s a difference between receiving the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
Receiving the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit are distinct yet intertwined aspects of the Christian faith.
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is a permanent gift bestowed upon all Believers as affirmed in Ephesians 1:13-14.
This guarantees our inheritance and seals us unto the day of redemption.
However being filled with the Holy Spirit goes beyond mere possession. It entails Surrendering fully to God’s will and living in righteousness.
Ephesians 5:18 encourages Believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit, emphasizing the need to avoid sin and to allow the Holy Spirit to occupy every area of one’s life.
While all Christians have the Holy Spirit within them, sin can grieve and quench his presence, hindering the fullness of His manifestations in our lives.
*Ephesians 4:30* says Therefore living by God’s Will and striving for Holiness are essential for experiencing the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
*BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT EQUIPS BELIEVERS FOR THE MINISTRY* It also empowers them to *boldly proclaim the gospel* as evident in Acts 4:31.
Despite facing persecution and adversity the apostles relied on the Holy Spirit for true power and boldness in their ministry endeavours.
Jesus foretold his followers challenges but assured them of the Holy Spirit’s guidance and empowerment.
*Mark 13:9-11* Through the Holy Spirit Believers received supernatural strength and wisdom to testify for Christ even in adversity.
