Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
The above verse isn’t talking about 1 type of enemy but 4 distinctive ranks of demonic opposition.
*Have you ever wondered why a lot of Christians pray, fast, and engage in spiritual warfare yet seeing little or no breakthrough?*
The answer is that they don’t truly understand how spiritual things work. *The nature of spiritual warfare*
So what is consecration?
Consecration is giving yourself to the Lord to become “a living sacrifice,” as Paul says in Romans 12:1: “I exhort you therefore, brothers, through the compassions of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.”
The word of God works but there’s only a measure of power that can come upon a life of hypocrisy.
*THE WORD OF GOD IS SO POWERFUL THAT IT HOLDS POWER EVEN WHEN A HYPOCRITE PREACHES IT.*
If you don’t wanna just move in HIS power but move in his presence it will take *CONSECRATION*
Many believers talk about spiritual warfare but fail to understand the organised hierarchy of the enemy. Understanding the structure is critical because you can not defeat an enemy you don’t understand.
*JUST AS ANGELS ARE RANKED IN AUTHORITY, SO ARE DEMONS*
Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes”.
Before engaging in warfare, you must understand the strategies and structure of your enemy.
An open door is how demons get in; STRONGHOLDS are how they stay.
In the Bible, strongholds can refer to defensive structures, arguments against God, or ideas that lead people away from obeying Christ.
Emotions like anger, rejection, shame, envy, and fear can also become spiritual strongholds that disconnect people from Christ.
*BREAKING DOWN THE ENEMY’S RANKS*
1. PRINCIPALITIES:
These are the princes without territory seeking to infiltrate families, communities, and regions.
Their first mission is to identify the Spiritually Gifted individuals and target them first.
*THEY DONT ATTACK THE WEAKEST, THEY ATTACK THE STRONGEST INTERCESSORS, PROPHETS, AND SPIRITUAL LEADERS*
Their weapon of choice is *LUST AND MORAL COMPROMISE*, because sexual sin not only separates you from God but also CORRUPTS YOUR BODY (which is the temple of the Holy Spirit).
This is done through things like Fornication, Adultery, and HOMOSEXUALITY. Read 1st Corinthians 6 vs 18.
*How to wrestle against principalities?*
*Put on God’s armor:* This includes submitting to God and resisting the devil.
*Know your enemy:* Recognize that your true opponent is sin, and that the devil may use people or objects as part of his attack.
*Live from your true identity in Christ:* Be more obedient to God, and have mercy on people.
*Invoke the authority of Jesus:* Claim your place in Christ as victorious over your enemies.
*Identify “open doors” in your life and close them:* Think of ways that the devil may have access to your life, and close those doors.
*Ask for help:* Ask the Holy Spirit to show you who you can talk to for prayer and encouragement.
*2. POWERS.*
Once principalities weaken the spiritual strongholds, powers step into and blows the atmosphere.
This is when prayer warriors stop praying and your zeal for Christ declines and the spiritual numbers take over community.
Powers shift mindsets and redirect desires away from God.
*3. RULERS OF DARKNESS.*
These spirits establish laws and patterns.
What seems normal in a city such as a Generational poverty of fatherlessness, homes, or cycles of immorality, is *OFTEN THE RESULT OF RULERS ENFORCING DEMONIC DECREES* The institutionalised sin making it culturally acceptable.
*4. SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES*
This is the highest level of demonic activity responsible for witchcraft, sorcery, and direct opposition to God’s work. *THEY TARGET WORSHIPPERS AND INTERCESSORS* causing hidden sin amongst those leading Ministries.
They seek to defile the church from within corrupting the very people called to advance the kingdom.
*Ephesians 1:3* says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places”.
Understanding high places and spiritual warfare, here’s the challenge, the demonic hierarchy operates in high places too. *SO PUT ON THE FULL ARMOUR OF GOD*
The Armour Of God, found in Ephesians 6:10-18, is made up of the following six items:
The belt of truth,
The breastplate of righteousness,
The shoes of the gospel,
The shield of faith,
The helmet of salvation and …
The sword of the spirit (Word of God).
