What is the fruit of the Spirit?

The fruit of the Spirit, found in Galatians 5:22-23, is made up of the following nine qualities or gifts: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

*Love*

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7, NIV).

“And above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins’” (1 Peter 4:8).

*Joy*

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice” (Philippians 4:4)! “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

*Peace*

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3, NKJV).

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful” (Colossians 3:15).

What Is The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit?*

*LOVE* Love is selflessness. The Bible says greater love has no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)

*JOY* That is grounded by Contentment in God's presence and confidence in Hope. Godly Joy is eternal because its based on the eternal.

*PEACE* Peace with God, peace within and peace with others is a work of the Holy Spirit.

*PATIENCE* Patience is just the ability to wait but to have the right attitude and mindset while you wait.

*KINDNESS* Kindness is Empathy, Generosity and Civility.

*GOODNESS* Goodness is moral Excellence and Purity.

*FAITHFULNESS* Faithfulness is Consistency and Reliability.

*GENTLENESS* Gentleness is Meekness or Humility. Humility *isn't Self-hatred or the denial that you have value.* Humility is to see yourself soberly in reference to *WHO GOD IS!*

*SELF-CONTROL* Self-control is mastery of self and cravings to do what you should even when you don't want to. To NOT do what you shouldn't even when you do.
